REMA TIP TOP AG recently made two acquisitions. The company acquired the conveyor technology division of Nuova Emil Riv srl, based in the Emilia Romagna region of northern Italy, strengthening its strategic position in that market. The company also acquired Polytechna AG. With the acquisition of the full-range supplier for conveyor technology based in Wetzikon, Switzerland, the REMA TIP TOP Group strengthened its strategic position in that country.
Nuova Emil Riv srl was founded in 1981 and specializes in the installation of rubber conveyor belts, idlers and anti-wear linings in the quarry, industrial and construction sectors, among others. The company operates mainly in the Emilia Romagna region, occasionally also in the rest of northern Italy.
In the past, REMA TIP TOP’s subsidiary Rivolta Tip Top Industriale spa, operated five service centers in Italy, but none in the Emilia Romagna region. The acquisition strengthens REMA TIP TOP’s position in this market, while at the same time the site benefits from the sales power and extensive product portfolio of the parent company.
Polytechna AG has been operating in the field of conveyor technology for decades. The Swiss company represents well-known manufacturers of conveyor belts, drum motors and drive rollers, checkweighers, metal detectors, track and& trace systems, bagging and bag emptying machines, as well as components for conveyor systems.
As a full-range supplier, Polytechna offers not only a broad product portfolio but also professional services for companies in various industries, from food, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, logistics, printing and paper, industry and agriculture to wood and textiles.
“Markets change, customer requirements become more complex. For years, REMA-TIP TOP Vulc-Material AG and Polytechna AG have shared the commitment to exceed our customers’ expectations with a broad product range, technical know-how and customer service at the highest level,” said Petra Vontz, managing director of REMA-TIP TOP Vulc-Material AG. “With the acquisition of Polytechna AG as a 100% subsidiary of REMA-TIP TOP, Vulc-Material AG, know-how and services will be bundled as of now to strengthen and further expand the leading position of both companies in the Swiss market.”
